    On the afternoon of April 4, HM&P representative, our Managing Partner Nguyen Van Phuc attended the program "The Central Highlands Region Investment Promotion Conference In 2024" held in Ho Chi Minh City. This conference was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee (HCMC People's Committee) and the People's Committees of 5 Central Highlands provinces (including: Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Lam Dong), with the participation of over 300 delegates from the Central Highlands provinces, Ho Chi Minh City and other neighboring provinces.

    Opening At the opening of the conference, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee, said: "Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces have signed a cooperation agreement for socio-economic development in many different fields, based on exploiting the strengths of each locality. Among them, Ho Chi Minh City will utilize advantages such as a favorable geographical location, developed technical infrastructure, diverse and high-quality human resources, and a strong scientific and technological base. In addition, Ho Chi Minh City acts as a center connecting the Southeast region, the Mekong Delta region, and the Central Highlands region".

    Regarding the relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands, he affirmed: "The development of Ho Chi Minh City always goes hand in hand with the development of localities nationwide, including the Central Highlands provinces. Recently, the socio-economic development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities of the Central Highlands has had a strong impact on promoting the production and consumption of products, facilitating the flow of transportation goods, and meeting the needs of the people in the provinces and cities in particular and the entire Central Highlands region in general."

    At the conference, Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces called for investment in 558 projects in the fields of transport infrastructure, high-tech agriculture, production and processing, ecotourism, service trade, logistics, healthcare, etc. Among them, the two localities with the highest number of projects seeking investment are Lam Dong (217 projects) and Kon Tum (157 projects). The remaining provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Nong, Dak Lak and Gia Lai also have a significant number of projects.

    Some key projects requiring investment in 2024 are Tan Phu - Bao Loc and Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressways (Lam Dong); New Urban Area Group 1, Nghia Duc District (Dak Nong); Solid Waste Treatment Plant (Dak Lak); High-tech Agricultural Zone Project (Gia Lai); and Dak Lung Eco-tourism Resort, Mud Bath, Mineral Spring and Waterfall Area (Kon Tum).

    In addition, 11 investment cooperation memoranda were signed at the conference, providing a legal basis for future cooperation and investment between investors and the People's Committees of the Central Highlands provinces. Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Dak Nong are the provinces with the highest number of memoranda.

    In general, the Central Highlands provinces are eager to attract investors and enterprises from Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country to invest in projects in the Central Highlands. The Central Highlands Region Investment Promotion Conference 2024 is an important conference to assess and discuss the strengths and potentials of the Central Highlands provinces, thereby expanding local investment opportunities and prospects.

    In addition to announcing the list of investment projects in 5 Central Highlands provinces, the conference is also an opportunity for investors in Ho Chi Minh City to discuss directly with representatives of the Central Highlands provinces about difficulties, obstacles, and provincial support for investors in investing here. In response to these questions, the provincial representatives had a frank exchange about the potentials as well as the difficulties and challenges for each project and locality. However, the provinces are also committed to facilitating and well implementing the common investment policy, ensuring transparency in all stages of the process, and quickly and promptly solving problems encountered by investors. In particular, the representative of Dak Lak Province, Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed: "Dak Lak is committed to continue strong innovation efforts in many aspects; greatly improve the business investment environment, reduce market entry costs for enterprises. Provincial leaders welcome to work directly with investors every 5th week, create the most favorable conditions for investors to access, explore and invest in the locality".

    Through the exchanges, it can be seen that representatives of investors in Ho Chi Minh City have paid much attention to investment projects in the Central Highlands, especially in the fields of high-tech agriculture, agro-processing, and tourism development. Some enterprises that have successfully invested in the Central Highlands also shared their experiences and encouraged other investors to boldly invest in this potential area.

    By attending the conference, our Managing Partner, Nguyen Van Phuc, not only had the opportunity to listen to important reports from the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and 5 Central Highlands provinces on the situation and prospects of investment in the Central Highlands, but also to meet and visit the business situation of HM&P's clients in Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces.
