HM&P participates and shares insights at the Hong Kong Forum on Legal and Commercial Dispute Resolution

On the afternoon of September 24, HM&P's Managing Partner, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, attended and shared insights at the Hong Kong Forum, following an invitation from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The forum, titled “Hong Kong – A Common Law Gateway for Vietnamese Businesses to China and beyond,” was co-hosted by the VCCI Ho Chi Minh City Branch and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Singapore. 

The event was attended by prominent figures such as Mr. Vo Tan Thanh, Vice President of VCCI; Mr. Nguyen Huu Nam, Deputy Director of VCCI-HCM; Mr. Truong Trong Nghia, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association; Mr. Paul Lam, Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China; and Mr. Owin Fung, Director of HKETO in Singapore. Additionally, over 60 representatives from Vietnamese businesses and associations, along with more than 15 Hong Kong experts in legal and commercial dispute resolution, were present. 

At the Hong Kong Forum 2024, the Hong Kong experts provided valuable information on Hong Kong's legal system, legal services, and international arbitration and mediation services. They also explored opportunities for cooperation between Vietnam and Hong Kong. The experts' in-depth discussions highlighted the key strengths of Hong Kong's legal and dispute resolution services. 

HM&P’s representative, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phúc, had the opportunity to gain insights into the current commercial landscape and the collaborative relationship between Vietnam and Hong Kong, as well as the legal and dispute resolution services introduced by the Hong Kong delegation. After listening to expert discussions, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phúc actively engaged in productive exchanges with experts and business representatives about Hong Kong’s legal services and the potential for bilateral commercial cooperation between Vietnam and Hong Kong.
