As part of the Personal Data Protection Week 2025 (PDP Week) held in Singapore from July 7 to 10, 2025, lawyers from HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”) participated in advanced training sessions on personal data protection to strengthen their expertise and support businesses in ensuring legal compliance across jurisdictions. Specifically, Managing Partner Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc attended the masterclass “It’s Not Child’s Play – Protecting Kids’ Data in a Grown-Up Digital World”, while Senior Associate Mr. Nguyen Nhat Duong joined the session “Why Borders? Building Your Organization’s Cross-Border Data Transfer Toolbox”. HM&P lawyers actively engaged in discussions with participants from various countries, gaining practical knowledge and insights to enhance their legal advisory capabilities.

From July 7–10, 2025, the Personal data protection week (PDP Week 2025), jointly organized by the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore (PDPC Singapore) and the Asian Institute of Policy and Privacy (AIPP), was held on a large scale at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore. The event brought together more than 3,000 attendees, mostly from across Asia, including regulators, data protection professionals, and corporate representatives, to exchange experiences, share best practices, and foster cooperation in personal data protection.
On July 3, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Managing Partner of HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”), attended the Vietnam–Argentina business opportunity conference held at Novotel Saigon. The event was jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI-HCM) and the Embassy of Argentina. It brought together nearly 80 delegates representing competent authorities, trade promotion organizations, and businesses from both countries operating in the sectors of agriculture, food, processing, technology, and logistics.
In light of increasingly stringent legal requirements on personal data protection, especially with the Law on Personal Data Protection (“PDPL”) passed by the National Assembly on June 26, 2025, and coming into force on January 1, 2026, the appointment or outsourcing of a Data Protection Officer (DPO) has become a statutory obligation for businesses (Clauses 2 and 3, Article 33 of the PDPL). To help enterprises adapt to and effectively comply with the new legal framework, HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”) proudly introduces its “Data Protection Officer (DPO) Service”- a specialized and flexible solution tailored to the specific needs and operational realities of each business.
Amid Vietnam’s accelerated push for digital transformation in public administration, the Government issued Decree No. 69/2024/ND-CP on May 15, 2024, regulating electronic identification and authentication. Accordingly, from July 1, 2025, all administrative procedures must be carried out via electronic identification (eID) accounts issued by the Ministry of Public Security. This new regulation presents an urgent requirement for businesses to register and utilize eID accounts to avoid disruptions in digital administrative processes. In response to these changes, on June 4, 2025, Lawyer Nguyen Nhat Duong, representing HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”), shared detailed insights in an online interview with Voice of Ho Chi Minh City (VOH) to help businesses understand the new regulation, grasp implementation procedures, and prepare accordingly.
