Following the success of the first talk show, "Vietnamese businesses facing concerns over the new U.S. tariff policies" which garnered significant attention from businesses, experts, and policymakers, HM&P Law Firm ("HM&P") continues its collaboration with Saigon Times to organize the second talk show: "Key considerations for Vietnamese enterprises amidst new U.S. tariff policies?"
On March 15, 2025, HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”) was honored to accompany the Consulate General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City as the principal sponsor of the 75th anniversary celebration of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary. The event took place at the Sheraton Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, with the distinguished presence of Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; Mr. Lehőcz Gábor, Consul General of Hungary, and his spouse; along with more than 100 guests representing foreign diplomatic missions in Ho Chi Minh City, economic organizations, businesses, and academic institutions from both countries. The event marked a significant milestone in the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Hungary.
This talk show marks the first session in the series "New U.S. Tariff Policies and Vietnam’s Response" organized by The Saigon Times in collaboration with HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”).
On March 5, 2025, Managing Partner Nguyen Van Phuc represented HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”) at the seminar titled Corporate boards: inclusive and diverse development held in Hanoi. The event was co-organized by the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), with technical support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO). The seminar attracted over 100 delegates, including female Chairpersons, Board Members, business leaders, and leading experts in corporate governance.
In the context of significant global economic fluctuations, particularly the adjustment of U.S. tariff policies on export goods, Vietnamese businesses must adopt flexible adaptation strategies to maintain their competitive advantage. On March 6, 2025, representing HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”), Managing Partner Nguyen Van Phuc had the honor of participating in discussions at the National scientific conference on "Innovation in lawmaking and law enforcement to meet the development needs of the country in the new era." The conference was held at the Hanoi International Convention Center and was jointly organized by the Ministry of Justice and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. It attracted the participation of leaders from central government agencies, experts, scholars, and representatives of legal service organizations.
At the invitation of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), on February 20, 2025, Lawyer Nguyen Nhat Duong and Lawyer Cao Nguyen Bao Lien from HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”) participated in and presented their contributions at the workshop titled “Contributing to the Improvement of the Draft Decree Guiding the Amendment and Supplementation of Certain Provisions of the Pharmaceutical Law” held at the Pullman Saigon Centre Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment is currently finalizing a separate Draft Decree on household businesses to establish a distinct legal framework from enterprises. The Draft is expected to facilitate household businesses by differentiating them from the regulations originally designed for enterprises. However, as assessed by Lawyer Nguyen Nhat Duong, representing HM&P Law Firm (“HM&P”) in The Saigon Times, there are still many shortcomings that may affect its feasibility in practice and require thorough consideration.
